Despite finishing only fourth on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter recently CAUSE TOUJOURS (1:10) is given another chance and can get off the mark at Huntingdon this afternoon.
Dan Skelton’s Warwick bumper winner was keen on his seasonal reappearance and will hopefully settle better here. The tight track ought to suit and, in receipt of weight from his main market rivals, it will be disappointing if he can’t shed his maiden tag. Available at 4-6 in places overnight, he may not be the most original of selections, but I am excited to see him once again and I thought he might have been a shade shorter.
Another short-priced novice hurdler that I am looking forward to seeing is ONEFORTHEROADTOM (2:00) at Worcester. Harry Fry’s grey looked an exciting recruit when lowering the colours of Aintree bumper winner Lalor on his Rules debut at Exeter and he should be up to following up under a penalty.
Fellow Irish Point-to-Point winner Some Man is the likely threat, but the selection sets a decent standard here and is taken to make it two from two for his in-form stable.
