Paul Ferguson has two selections from Cheltenham on Friday; Brillare Momento at 2:00 and Vivas at 3:10. Compare odds and bet.
Cheltenham’s new season gets underway this afternoon with a fascinating card.
The pick in terms of quality is the squareintheair.com Novices’ Chase where Sceau Royal might find life difficult conceding a penalty to smart hurdlers Movewiththetimes and/or North Hill Harvey. This should prove quite informative.
The handicaps on the card look as competitive as ever, but VIVAS (3:10) won with a bit in hand on his return at Uttoxeter and that race has worked out reasonably well. Charlie Longsdon’s six-year-old has gone up just 4lbs and, while this is more difficult and he’ll find it harder to dominate, he looks worth an each-way interest at the odds (12-1 overnight).
Earlier, Martin Keighley’s course winner BRILLARE MOMENTO (2:00) can land the opener under Aidan Coleman.
The Milan mare won a Listed event here at the April meeting, after which she was attempting to concede 10lbs to the smart Momella when beaten a couple of lengths. The winner advertised that form by bolting up last Friday and she sets a good standard here, plus she ought to relish the decent ground. She was trading at a shade of odds against on Thursday evening.
Friday’s selections:
2:00 Cheltenham – Brillare Momento; 11/10 BetVictor
3:10 Cheltenham – Vivas; 12/1 bet365
