Paul Ferguson has two selections from Chepstow for us on Sunday; Vision des Flos at 2:50 and Mont des Avaloirs at 5:40. Compare odds and bet.
Having skipped an easier option at the same track yesterday Vision des Flos (2:50) is fancied to defy inexperience and land the Persian War Novices’ Hurdle on his debut over timber.
A bumper winner at the Punchestown Festival, he looks a really exciting recruit to the Colin Tizzard team and he might well be up to winning what looks a slightly substandard Grade 2 on this British debut.
Later on the card, I will be interested to see how Chelsea Flyer shapes dropping in trip in the 0-150 handicap hurdle. He moved well for a long way – heavily backed beforehand – on his seasonal debut and several from the Emma Lavelle yard have looked as though they would come on for their reappearance. If he were over-looked in the market, he would be worth considering each-way.
The bumper has split into two divisions and Paul Nicholls’ Mont des Avaloirs (5:40) sets a good standard in the second division. Runner-up to a useful looking prospect here in April, this full brother to stable-mate Le Prezien travelled really well and looks more than capable of winning a race of this nature.
Sunday’s selection:
2:50 Chepstow: Vision des Flos; 7/2 Coral
5:40 Chepstow: Mont des Avaloirs; 5/2 Ladbrokes
