Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Truckers Lodge in the Uttoxeter 2:25. Compare odds and bet.
There are some smart novice hurdlers on show in the maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter on Sunday, where Aye Aye Charlie (sure to want further in time), exciting Irish Point-to-Point recruit Palmers Hill and Philip Hobbs’ Market Rasen bumper winner Who’s My Jockey all lock horns.
Be sure to pay close attention to this race with the next few weeks and months in mind, while the opening novice event looks weaker and it looks the ideal starting point for Chepstow bumper winner Truckers Lodge (2:25).
Tom George’s five-year-old impressed with how strongly he finished when winning on his Rules debut – dead-heated with a decent horse on his second start between the flags in Ireland – and the Westerner gelding looks the type to make up into a useful staying novice this season. All of his form to date has come on a decent surface so the likely soft ground is a slight concern, but he has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and he can make the best possible start.
Sunday’s selection:
2:25 Uttoxeter: Truckers Lodge; 11/8 Ladbrokes
