Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Dans Le Vent in the Huntingdon 14:35 and Silver Kayf 14:45 at Warwick. Compare odds and bet.
There are several nice novices on show on Thursday, including Champion Bumper sixth DANS LE VENT (2:35) who can make a winning hurdling debut at Huntingdon.
Jamie Snowden’s four-year-old also shaped well in a strong event at Newbury as well as winning bumpers at Towcester and Ludlow. Both victories came on decent ground and he appeals as the type to do well in 2m novice hurdles on speed-based tracks. He can get the better of main market rival Hatcher.
Warwick stages a decent card, with Champion Hurdle sixth Sceau Royal making his debut over the larger obstacles, whilst there a clutch of nice novice hurdle prospects on show in the first two races.
The opening National Hunt novices’ event looks the deeper race, in which it is nice to see Herewego Herewego return for Alan King, but at the prices I’d probably side with Blazon.
He can go well for trainer Kim Bailey, but stable-mate SILVER KAYF (2:45) gets the vote as the day’s second selection, with the 2m5f maiden looking a much more winnable affair.
Market leader The Welsh Paddies shaped well on debut at Uttoxeter, but the selection has long looked like the type who could improve once going up in trip when sent hurdling. The five-year-old ran well in each of the past two runnings of Newbury’s valuable sales bumper and he also ran well at Ascot on his reappearance last season, proving his ability to go well when fresh.
