Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Tuesday; Minellacelebration in the Warwick 15:30. Compare odds and bet.
I’ll be at Warwick this afternoon for the Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Handicap Hurdle, in which market leader Premier Rose might be difficult to stop in her pursuit of the hat-trick.
Dan Skelton’s eight-year-old mare looks tight enough in the betting as she goes up in grade, but does look the improver among the six-strong field.
She moved to the Skelton yard from Katy Price and her MINELLACELEBRATION (3:30) looks the each-way play in the day’s feature, the Weatherbys Racing Diaries Handicap Chase.
The seven-year-old bumped into a decent handicapper from the Skelton stable at Aintree last time, having won his previous two outings. The lay-off is a slight concern, but he was on an upward curve when last sighted and, if all eight go to post and the rain stays away, he represents a bit of value around 8-1.
There are plenty of dangers in what looks a competitive affair, with Sonneofpresenting having won for this column already this term and Fort Worth was a horse I was quite keen on earlier in his career.
Both need to step forward again off today’s revised marks and it could be that bottom weight Belmount offers up most resistance. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ runner won a couple of times this time last year before running well at Cheltenham and Uttoxeter in the spring.
He finds himself much better off at the weights with today’s selection (finished third), although Minellacelebration appeared to step forward again at Aintree.
