Sixth in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot MAINSTREAM (2:40) might not look the most straightforward at times, but can defy top-weight at York today.
Third in what turned out to be a hot Newmarket handicap on his reappearance – form reads well now – the four-year-old often takes a while to find his stride, so could just be suited by York’s long straight.
TITI MAKFI (3:00) appears to be improving at a rate of knots and can complete the five-timer, having won four handicaps during June.
Mark Johnston’s filly was well on top in the closing stages at Chester last time and her progression shows no sign of stopping. She has more on her plate here, but can take the step up in grade in her stride under Ryan Moore.
