Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; An Caisteal Nuadh in the Limerick 13:30 and Work In Progress 15:30 at Market Rasen. Compare odds and bet.
Though he has to concede lumps of weight to a couple of interesting four-year-olds that make their respective chase debuts this afternoon Work In Progress (3:30) is taken to follow up his recent course-and-distance success at Market Rasen.
Dan Skelton’s useful hurdler was having his third start over fences when successful here 16 days ago, where he was given a no-nonsense ride from Harry Skelton. The seven-year-old jumped well out in front and a similar round of jumping should make him difficult to beat, despite the weight concession.
Over in Ireland An Caisteal Nuadh (1:30) should take some stopping in the opening maiden hurdle at Limerick, despite the 317-day lay-off.
Gordon Elliott’s six-year-old won a bumper at this track a year ago and probably reappeared too quickly when well beaten at Galway just 10 days later. The Scorpion gelding was a faller when almost upsides the smart Peregrine Run on his hurdles debut last August and, assuming he is wound up for this return (held entries in recent weeks), he can make a winning return.
