Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Pumblechook in the Kempton 19:40. Compare odds and bet.
Kempton stages a decent middle-distance handicap this evening, in which Gibbs Hill heads the market in a first time hood.
He remains potentially smart, but this looks a competitive affair and classy hurdler Zubayr was impressive when winning a maiden over course-and-distance.
This represents a big step up in class for Paul Nicholls’ runner, however, and, at the prices (opened up 10-1 last night and available at 8s at time of writing), preference is for PUMBLECHOOK (7:40).
After wins at Leicester and Newmarket – bolted to 11 days ago over 1m5f – the four-year-old arrives here at the top of his game and looks a typical Mark Johnston progressive handicapper. He’s up 6lbs for that latest success and, if handling the surface, looks sure to go well. Hopefully all eight will go to post, for each-way purposes.
Wednesday’s selection:
7:40 Kempton – Pumblechook 9/1 SkyBet
