Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Clondaw Cracker in the Ascot 14:00 and Invitation Only 16:05 Fairyhouse. Compare odds and bet.
A couple of potentially smart novice hurdlers return from lay-offs on Sunday, starting with Clondaw Cracker (2:00) in Ascot’s opening maiden hurdle.
Neil Mulholland’s Warwick bumper winner was sent off odds-on to make a winning hurdles debut back in October, when pulling-up at Wetherby. Clearly something were amiss that day and, judged on that bumper form, he remains of interest and could be up to winning on this first start for 156 days.
Over in Ireland Invitation Only (4:05) can land Fairyhouse’s Grade 2 Easter Festival April 16th-18th Novice Hurdle, for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.
He looked very promising in the bumper sphere last term and beat Barra (runner-up at the festival last month) in a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park in November. Only third behind Death Duty when last sighted the following month, his absence again indicates that all was not right and he, too, is taken to get his career back on track.
