Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Great Field in the Leopardstown 15:40. Compare odds and bet.
The pick of Sunday’s action comes from Leopardstown, where the feature contest is the 2m1f Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Chase.
A lot of focus will be on high-class hurdler Identity Thief who bids to complete a race for the first time since November (failed to complete the last twice). Both Don’t Touch It and Woodland Opera possess the class to be competitive at this level, but I am taking a chance on Great Field (3:40) who had too much pace for Mall Dini on his chase debut at Gowran during January.
A headstrong performer, he was far too keen for his own good in last year’s County Hurdle and he was again free when winning on his chasing bow. He jumped a little low late on, so this horse doesn’t come without his risks, but he certainly has plenty of ability and, if allowed his own way out in front, he might be able to stay there provided his jumping holds up.
