Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Peggies Venture in the Huntingdon 15:20. Compare odds and bet.
Hopefully Huntingdon passed a precautionary 8am inspection, as there are several interesting novices on show.
Nicky Henderson could enjoy a good day at the Cambridgeshire track, with Burbank (1:50) likely to take plenty of beating in the National Hunt maiden hurdle. This doesn’t look the strongest of races, so he probably warrants his very short overnight price.
An hour-and-a-half later, stable companion O O Seven (3:20) bids to return to winning ways under top weight in the six-runner novices’ handicap chase. Conceding 17lbs to Aqua Dude might not be easy, but the drop back in trip is a positive for me and his form when racing right handed reads 1211212 – he has won a bumper and a maiden hurdle at this course, too.
Henderson saddles a couple in the concluding mares’ maiden hurdle, in which PEGGIES VENTURE (3:50) deserves to head the market for Alan King.
The six-year-old travelled really strongly when runner-up in a Listed bumper here last month and she is fancied to make a winning hurdles debut. She opened up at 9/4 and 2/1 (in places) on Thursday, so she gets the vote as the day’s selection.
