Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Professor Plum in the Catterick 3:20 and Top Ville Ben in the 3:40 at Leicester. Compare odds and bet.
A bumper winner at Ludlow on his debut for current connections TOP VILLE BEN (3:40) can maintain his unbeaten record in the concluding novices’ hurdle at Leicester this afternoon.
Nicky Henderson’s five-year-old won his sole start between the flags in Ireland and got the job done nicely at Ludlow, racing enthusiastically towards the head of affairs and finishing strongly. A €70,000 purchase, he looks a nice prospect.
Up at Catterick PROFESSOR PLUM (3:20) is an interesting runner in the 3m1f handicap hurdle.
Not seen for 484 days, Rose Dobbin readied one to win a bumper after a lengthy lay off last week (heavily punted), so he is very much one to note in the market.
A smart bumper performer a couple of seasons back, when one of his two victories came at the expense of the 140-rated Double W’s, making his mark of 109 look potentially lenient. Clearly he has had his issues, but he is bred to appreciate today’s trip and I’ll be interested in him each-way, should all eight run and his price be right.
Thursday’s selections:
