Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Sunday; Lake View Lad in the Carlisle 14:40. Compare odds and bet.
A faller on this card 12 months ago and, indeed, on his second start over hurdles Lake View Lad (2:40) finished runner-up on his chase debut last month and represents the in-form stable of Nick Alexander.
The keen-going grey won three times over this sort of trip over hurdles last season and remains progressive. With that initial run under his belt and up to his optimum distance, he is fancied to go one better, despite being burdened by top-weight in a competitive looking novices’ handicap.
Of the opposition Fionn Mac Cul is of interest on his chase debut, for Venetia Williams and Trevor Hemmings. A winner here over hurdles, he has the look of a chaser and might well improve for fences.
Sunday’s selection:
2:40 Carlisle: Lake View Lad; 10/3 Betfred
