Paul Ferguson two selections from Cheltenham for us on Saturday; Different Gravey in the 12:40 and Vaniteux at 1:15. Compare odds and bet.
Impressive in the closing stages (quickened up well after the second last) on debut at Ascot Different Gravey (12:40) should appreciate today’s slightly longer trip and is fancied to make it two from two over fences, in Cheltenham’s Ryman Novices’ Chase.
A very smart hurdler, he jumped well in the main at Ascot and, provided that he puts in a similar round on today’s undulating course (disappointed on his one visit here over hurdles), he should follow up.
The same connections’ Vaniteux (1:15) can defy top-weight in the Raymond Mould Handicap Chase, with conditions likely to be in his favour (assuming the rain stays away overnight).
Nicky Henderson’s seven-year-old was running a big race when unseating Nico de Boinville two out in the Arkle and, despite not winning here over hurdles, his form at the track reads well, having finished placed in a Supreme and a Greatwood.
Saturday’s selections:
12:40 Cheltenham: Different Gravey; 8/11 bet365
1:15 Cheltenham: Vaniteux; 5/2 bet365
