The Daily Record’s Mr Fixit Paul Jain previews the big games in the Premier League and Football League. Compare odds | Live scores
THE early Premier League game features Swansea v Liverpool and I like the visitors to win with both scoring – as was the case when Man City visited the Liberty last weekend.
If Liverpool are serious about a title tilt these are games they must win but they are short at 9-20 with Betvictor. Look at Liverpool and both to score at 19-10 with boylesports and Liverpool to score 2+ at 4-9 with Ladbrokes.
Chelsea are bidding to bounce back from their 3-0 mauling at Arsenal by winning at Hull. Antonio Conte’s side should complete the mission but again look too short at 1-2. Instead try Diego Costa to score at evens with Coral.
At the other end of the table it’s not looking good for Davie Moyes after Sunderland threw away a two-goal lead last week to lose 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace.
The only glimmer of hope comes in the shape of Jermain Defoe who netted twice. A home match against West Brom is one where Moyes will be targeting three points and while I can’t trust them I can support Defoe at 7-4 with Stan James to score again.
West Ham are another struggling side and hope to end their London Stadium jinx at home to Middlesbrough. The visitors should be considered draw no bet at 29-20 with Betvictor.
In the Championship best bet could be over 2.5 goals at Wolves v Norwich at teatime. The Canaries’ last five away games have totalled 20 goals and lost 4-3 from 3-1 up at Newcastle in midweek. Overs pays evens at William Hill and Betvictor.
Talking of Newcastle and they should be buzzing after netting goals in the 96th and 97th minutes to win. They are short at 4-7 with Paddy Power so risk them minus one at 6-4.
In League One it’s second v first as Bury host Scunthorpe. Both are high scorers so again try over 2.5 goals at evens with Ladbrokes and Betvictor.
