Though he would ideally prefer a sounder surface Weld Al Emarat (8:30) is taken to land Haydock’s Betfred “Thanks Our Staff Here Tonight” Handicap.
A useful three-year-old for Kevin Ryan, the Dubawi gelding made his debut for Simon Crisford at Newbury earlier in the month and went very close to making a winning reappearance.
He remains open to further improvement and, off a lb higher mark, he certainly appears to have a handicap in him. The selection was trading at 3-1 overnight.
