Pontefract stages a decent little four-runner conditions race this afternoon, in which Bolt Phantom makes a quick reappearance having finished midfield in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot. Prior to that, he was slowly away when runner-up to Norfolk Stakes third Silver Line.
Richard Fahey’s Chester winner Scofflaw heads the market and, though the race is likely to be run to suit, preference is for Love Dreams (2:35) who might be difficult to peg back.
An impressive winner at Hamilton just 12 days ago, Mark Johnston’s Dream Ahead colt powered clear in the closing stages. He has to prove himself on quicker ground this afternoon, but he looked a nice prospect on debut and can follow up here. The selection was trading at 2-1 overnight.
