Assuming the rain stays away One For The Guv’Nr (3:00) is worth backing in Uttoxeter’s Bet365 Handicap Hurdle.
The seven-year-old was pulled out due to softening ground at Aintree recently, but remains a horse of considerable interest and looks capable of winning a handicap off his current mark.
Twice a winner as a novice the season before last, he was last sighted unseating Andrew Tinkler when beaten at Huntingdon, but he appeared a non-stayer over an extra half-mile that day, having travelled well for a long way.
Dropped 2lbs, he makes plenty of appeal here, though he wouldn’t want the ground to deteriorate too much – I would expect Nicky Henderson to pull him out, if it is deemed unsuitable.
