Many punters like to place accumulators on the group winners at a major tournament and Euro 2016 offers the opportunity to perm up to six teams thanks to the changed format.
As far as Group A is concerned, it will be one-way traffic for France and Ladbrokes go 4/11 about the tournament hosts banking top spot and securing an easy-looking passage to the last four.
Group B has a similar look and feel, with England clearly the outstanding team in the section and bet365 now offer 5/6 that the Three Lions get the better of Russia, Slovakia and Wales.
Much comes down to their opener against the Russians, with the latter 10/3 (Stan James) to claim top spot, while the Welsh are 5/1 with Ladbrokes and face Slovakia in their opener.
Group C involves the mighty Germany and bet365 offer 2/5 that the world champions come out on top, with Poland available at 5/1 (Sky Bet) to upset the applecart. Northern Ireland are a meaty 25/1 (William Hill) by contrast.
Then we have Spain as strong favourites to win Group D, with Sky Bet offering 4/6 that La Roja finish ahead of Croatia, Czech Republic and Turkey. It could be tighter than the odds suggest and the Croatians are 7/2 (188Bet) to claim top spot at Spain’s expense.
Group E looks like a pretty tough one although Belgium could be a great odds-against bet, with the Red Devils 11/10 (bet365) to go through as section winners and that’s pretty important as far as the draw is concerned.
Italy are a 17/10 chance (Ladbrokes) to pip their rivals, while the Republic of Ireland are as big as 10/1 (bet365) to claim the spoils.
Finally, Portugal are favourites to win Group F although Sky Bet are taking them on with their even money quote. Indeed, Austria look a far better shout at 9/4 (William Hill) if you consider the teams’ respective qualifying campaigns.
