Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Disko in the Punchestown 18:05. Compare odds and bet.
Absent since winning a maiden hurdle by 29 lengths last November DISKO (6:05) returns to action in this evening’s Tattersalls Ireland Champion Novice Hurdle and can score under Davy Russell.
With Bryan Cooper opting to ride A Toi Phil, in-form Russell comes in for the ride on the grey who remains completely unexposed after just two runs over hurdles.
Noel Meade’s five-year-old created a deep impression when winning a bumper here at Punchestown in February of last year, after which he finished runner-up in the championship event at the festival.
Beaten on debut over hurdles, he emphatically got off the mark when last sighted and this has been the aim since meeting with a setback earlier in the season, at which time he was ruled out of the Cheltenham Festival.
He remains a high-class prospect, in my opinion, and deserves a crack at this Grade 1, despite his limited experience.
