Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Altesse De Guye in the Towcester 15:35. Compare odds and bet.
The highlight on Wednesday is without doubt the return of top-class mare Annie Power over at Punchestown, where she will sport a hood for the first time. Assuming all goes to plan, the door might well be opened for her to take on Thistlecrack in next month’s World Hurdle, as opposed to running in the mares’ only event.
At a lower level and from a punting perspective Altesse De Guye (3:35) is worth a small interest in the mares’ handicap hurdle at Towcester, for Martin Keighley and Andrew Tinkler.
The daughter of Dom Alco has been off since November, but she was running in better handicaps when last sighted, finishing behind the useful Sykes at Chepstow, before chasing home Desert Queen at Ascot.
She has run reasonably well at this track in the past and should cope with the ground, so she is capable of going well, despite the lay off.
