Previous winners Western Rules and Micky Hammond’s mare Libby Mae set a decent standard (the latter unpenalised for winning a ‘boys race’ over course-and-distance) in the opening novices’ hurdle at Sedgefield, but Waiting Patiently (1:45) shaped really well last time and can score for Keith and James Reveley.
The Flemensfirth gelding has finished runner-up on both starts to date, latterly when bumping into a potentially useful prospect in the shape of Cloudy Dream and, if he handles the softer ground, he looks sure to play a big hand here.
