Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Echo Springs in the Doncaster 14:30. Compare odds and bet.
Still a maiden after six runs over hurdles Echo Springs (2:30) certainly has a race in him over timber and, down 5lbs in the weights, he is worth supporting each-way in the staying handicap at Doncaster on Friday.
Runner-up to Imagine The Chat (a winner for this column over Christmas) in a maiden at Bangor last April, Danielle McCormick’s six-year-old then shaped well in a couple of early season contests at Aintree, after which he travelled strongly for a long way over today’s course-and-distance.
Disappointing at Kelso over Christmas, it could be that the ground was too testing for him on that occasion (won a good ground bumper for trainer John Quinn) and, back on better ground, he might well improve. The selection was trading at 12-1 this morning
