Given the recent form of the yard, it is difficult to be too confident about runners from the Peter Bowen stable, but the trainer saddled a winner over the weekend and there were definite signs of promise from a couple of his other runners.
With that in mind, another chance is given to ALF ‘N’ DOR (4:00) in the concluding bumper at Ludlow on Tuesday.
The five-year-old shaped reasonably well on debut last season and returned to Market Rasen in October, where he finished third behind a subsequent Aintree bumper winner.
Being by Flemensfirth he should cope with conditions and he looks to have the penalised course winner Mac Gregory to beat.
