Live on BBC1 & BTSport2: Wed 19:45. Leicester v Spurs and Liverpool v Exeter are the televised FA Cup third round replays on Wednesday. Live scores |
Leicester and Tottenham clash for the fourth time this season, with the Foxes a backable price at 9/5 (Ladbrokes) to claim an FA Cup replay win over a Spurs side who are strangely favourites.
The London side have failed to beat City on three occasions and were recently turned over at White Hart Lane in the league, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side a 7/5 chance (Stan James) to claim the spoils.
There hasn’t been much between these sides in three matches and the draw is 5/2 with BetVictor which could mean a long evening of extra-time and even spot kicks. Paddy Power have even money that Leicester qualify one way or another.
Riyad Mahrez has been suspect from the spot recently although the Algerian is an 8/1 poke (bet365) to open the scoring on Wednesday night, with Harry Kane among the favourites at 9/2 (Paddy Power) but much depends on whether the manager fields him.
Jurgen Klopp will field the youngsters again on Wednesday night, although the bookies make Liverpool strong favourites to beat Exeter. The Reds are no bigger than 3/10 (William Hill) to get the better of the Grecians although the match might be closer than the odds suggest.
City are a 12/1 chance (bet365) and Paul Tisdale’s team are showing signs of improvement, having been unfortunate not to beat Liverpool in the original tie. The draw is a 5/1 poke with BetVictor and it should be noted that a Liverpool reserve team couldn’t beat Carlisle United in the League Cup.
Christian Benteke is likely to start against Exeter and bet365 go 15/4 about the Belgian breaking the deadlock, although the visitors have Tom Nichols bang in form and the forward is a 12/1 shot (Paddy Power) to open the scoring and potentially set the visitors on the way to a famous win.
