Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Thursday; Gabrial The Great in the Wincanton 14:35. Compare odds and bet.
I wouldn’t usually suggest an each-way bet in a five-runner race, but Gabrial The Great (2:35) returns to action after a year off on ground softer than ideal and he also faces an in-form horse in the shape of last week’s winner Presenting Arms.
Formerly trained by Donald McCain, the useful ex-Flat performer remains relatively unexposed over hurdles and should be capable of winning a handicap from his current mark for new trainer, David Pipe. Wincanton ought to suit and, if handling the deep ground, he could easily put it up to the odds-on shot.
The selection was trading at 9-2 overnight, so it worthy of each-way support, in the hope he sees of Leviathan as the chief threat to Harry Fry’s runner.
Thursday’s selection:
2:35 Wincanton: Gabrial The Great; 5/1 Coral
