Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Lake View Lad in the Carlisle 2.20 and No More Heroes in the 2.40 at Fairyhouse. Compare odds and bet.
The pick of the action on Sunday comes from Fairyhouse, with the Irish venue staging a trio of Grade 1s, the last being the Drinmore Novices’ Chase and that can go the way of No More Heroes (2:40) who won impressively on his chase debut last month.
The six-year-old jumped with aplomb at Punchestown and, if he repeats that round of fencing here, he can make it two from two, despite this looking a fairly competitive renewal.
On the domestic front Lake View Lad (2:20) is fancied to make a winning debut over hurdles at Carlisle.
The son of Oscar caught the eye finishing third at the Punchestown Festival on his racecourse debut and he made a winning start for the Nick Alexander yard at Hexham recently. Expected to have improved for that, the five-year-old proved he handles heavy ground that day and should be tough to beat, if hurdling proficiently.
Sunday’s selection:
2:20 Carlisle: Lake View Lad; 5/4 bet365
2:40 Fairyhouse: No More Heroes; 11/8 bet365
