Paul Ferguson two selections from Pumpton for us on Monday; Le Mercurey in the 1.30 and Vinciaettis at 3.35. Compare odds and bet.
Warren Greatrex has his string in fine form, saddling both runners to success at Uttoxeter on Saturday, and Vinciaettis (3:35) can make a winning debut for the Uplands yard at Plumpton this afternoon.
A heavy ground bumper winner at Limerick in March, the son on Enrique travelled really powerfully that day and should have little trouble in handling the likely testing ground, whereas chief rival Fountains Windfall has only raced on good ground to date.
Earlier on the card Le Mercurey (1:30) can get off the mark in the UK at the fourth time of asking, on his debut over fences in the SIS Novices’ Chase.
I expected big things from the Nickname gelding last term and, while he failed to deliver, his form is still pretty strong and Paul Nicholls believes he will come into his own over fences this season. Conditions should be ideal for him this afternoon; Befair Hurdle winner Violet Dancer sets the standard.
Monday’s selections:
1:30 Plumpton: Le Mercurey; 6/4 Skybet
3:35 Plumpton: Vinciaettis; 10/11 Paddy Power
