Paul Ferguson has two selections from Uttoxeter on Friday; Paddy’s Field in the 1.15 and Garde La Victoire at 3.00 Compare odds and bet.
Twice a winner on his reappearance Garde La Victoire (3:00) is fancied to make a winning debut over fences at Uttoxeter this afternoon.
Last year’s Greatwood Hurdle winner faces no easy task, but Philip Hobbs has his horses in fine shape at present and this six-year-old has the size and scope to make a big impact over fences. He was trading around 6-4 on Thursday evening.
Earlier on the card, Hobbs and Richard Johnson will be hoping Onefitzall can justify favouritism in the extended 2m3f novices’ hurdle, though this also looks a fairly deep event and there appears to be a bit of value elsewhere.
Speredek is one that did well in bumpers and is worth noting in the market, but Paddy’s Field (1:15) ran a race full of promise when fourth in what looked a warm bumper at Warwick during May and he is worth chancing at the prices.
Ben Pauling’s five-year-old led the field into the straight that day and appeals as the type to improve for meeting obstacles and stepping up in trip. Trading around 14-1 overnight, he looks worth a small each-way interest in what could turn out to be an informative event.
Friday’s selections:
1:15 Uttoxeter: Paddy’s Field; 14/1 bet365
3:00 Uttoxeter: Garde La Victoire; 5/4 bet365
