Live on BTSport 1: Sun 12.30: Leigh Griffiths is 3/1 (Hills) to net first for Celtic at Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.
On the face of it, with Celtic already well adrift of Premiership leaders Aberdeen, it looks like the champions’ title defence is stuttering, however, the Hoops already have three more points than they did at the exact same stage of the last campaign so boss Ronny Deila won’t be pressing the panic button just yet.
Nevertheless, they’ll be keen to reign in the Dons at the table’s summit and they should be able to make inroads in that department by getting the better of Hamilton at New Douglas Park this afternoon.
The Accies (9/1, BetVictor) are unbeaten at home, where they’ve taken ten points from a possible dozen, conceding just twice in the process so there’ll be many punters that think the Bhoys are plenty short enough at odds of 3/10 with Ladbrokes.
That’s understandable, as would be a wager on the stalemate at 9/2 via Stan James, but Celtic have a decent recent record when visiting the South Lanarkshire outfit and have some catching up to do so they should be well up for this one.
A close affair is still on the cards though so an away success by a one-goal margin catches the eye at 11/4 courtesy of bet365 and a case can also be made for BetVictor’s 15/2 marked against Deila’s boys bagging the game’s only goal given that Hamilton are pretty solid defensively on their own patch.
At the other end, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has found the net in six of his last seven league matches so he has to be worth considering at 3/1 (William Hill) to break the deadlock even if the clash looks a good bet at 6/4 with Paddy Power to generate fewer than three goals in total.
