Paul Ferguson has two selections from Goodwood for us on Saturday; Dartmouth in the 14:35 and Lady of Dubai at 15:10. Compare odds and bet.
Today’s feature, the Group 1 Nassau Stakes, looks a cracking renewal and 1,000 Guineas heroine Legatissimo is a worthy market leader.
This could well end up being her optimum trip, but she has been on the go since April and has had five runs this season, so there has to be a worry that she won’t be able to hold her form throughout the summer.
With that in mind, Oaks third (2½ lengths off the market leader) Lady Of Dubai (3:10) looks a viable each-way alternative at the odds.
Luca Cumani’s Dubawi filly impressively won the Height Of Fashion Stakes over course-and-distance on her seasonal reappearance and, in contrast to Legatissimo, has had just the two starts this season. She remains open to plenty of improvement and, with that course form to her name, a bold show seems a distinct possibility under Andrea Atzeni.
Earlier on the card Dartmouth (2:35) is fancied to go well in the Educate A Child Stakes, a valuable 1m4f handicap for three-year-olds.
Sir Michael Stoute’s colt ran out an impressive winner at Ascot last month and he might well be capable of defying a 6lb rise under Olivier Peslier.
Saturday’s selections:
2:35 Goodwood: Dartmouth; 4/1 Bet365
3:10 Goodwood: Lady Of Dubai; 13/2 Bet365
