Live on BTSport 1: Sun 12.30: Celtic are a tasty 5/2 (bet365) to beat Partick by one goal in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic will be more than happy with their week’s work having opened their title defence with a victory over Ross County before earning a draw at FK Qarabag to reach the last qualifying round of the Champions League and the Bhoys are bankers to put the icing on the cake today by plundering the points at Partick.
Ronny Deila’s men are 4/11 with Skybet to make it two from two while Stan James price the hosts at 17/2 to cause an upset and it’s 9/2 at BetVictor to finish all square, but the buoyant Hoops are hard to oppose at Firhill.
Nevertheless, the visitors are unlikely to get things all their own way. The battling Jags dug in well last week to secure a point at Hamilton, despite being reduced to ten men after 25 minutes while Celtic might be a touch leg-weary after their Azerbaijan exploits so it might be tighter than the odds suggest.
Bet365’s 5/2 for the Bhoys to shade it by a one-goal margin isn’t without appeal then, shrewd punters could do worse than consider a few quid on a 1-0 away success at 6/1 courtesy of Hills and as Deila’s boys have conceded just once in five matches so far this term, they catch the eye at 6/5 via Paddy Power to combine a win with a clean sheet in this one.
At the other end, Leigh Griffiths is William Hill’s 7/2 favourite to break the deadlock in Maryhill but there could be value in sidestepping the Celtic front man for a bigger-priced runner. Stefan Johansen has struck three times already this season, including the second against the Staggies last weekend and he’s a touch on the high side at 7/1 (bet365) to put his side 1-0 up in this one. Alternatively, Stan James rate the Norwegian at 2/1 to notch at any time.
