Paul Ferguson has two selection for us on Friday; High Secret in the Ascot 14:55 and Brave Richard in the Uttoxeter 17:25 Compare odds and bet.
Sir Mark Prescott’s HIGH SECRET (14:55) continues his upward curve and, despite the rise in class, is worth supporting at Ascot on Friday.
Twice a winner for this column in recent weeks, the improving four-year-old has gone up a further 5lbs since his most recent Catterick success, but remains relatively unexposed as a stayer and can defy the handicapper.
Given the competitiveness of the contest, it is hoped that the High Chaparral gelding is available at an each-way price.
Uttoxeter’s concluding bumper is an interesting contest with the unbeaten pairing of BRAVE RICHARD (17:25) and Waterlord going head-to-head.
The latter has impressed in winning both starts, latterly in effortless fashion in a weak affair at Perth, but the selection is now three from three and appears to be improving with each run.
A smooth travelling son of Jeremy, the four-year-old possesses a fine turn of foot and can complete the four-timer, despite being burdened with a triple penalty (14lbs).
Friday’s selections:
14:55 Ascot – High Secret; 13/2 bet365
17:25 Uttoxeter – Brave Richard; 6/1 Skybet
