The short-price winner of a five-runner Redcard maiden in May, Distain (16:10) is taken to follow up in the 1m4f fillies’ handicap at Doncaster on Friday.
Lady Cecil’s daughter of Champs Elysees travelled like a smart prospect before staying on well over 10 furlongs and the step up in trip looks sure to bring about further improvement. After the race, she was spoken of as a possible Ribblesdale contender, so she is clearly held in high regard.
An opening mark of 80 could well underestimate her and, though she is the least experienced runner in the field, she can strike under Martin Harley before stepping up in class. The selection was trading at 6/4 overnight.
