Paul Ferguson two selections for us on Saturday; Pied Du Roi in the Uttoxeter 3.55 and Flemenstar in the Navan 4.25. Compare odds and bet.
Though he hasn’t looked totally straightforward at times this season Pied Du Roi (3:55) is worth supporting in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on Saturday.
Charlie Longsdon’s five-year-old ran a race full of promise on his debut in a Haydock bumper a year ago and the son of Robin Des Pres has shown glimpses of that ability in three hurdles starts to date. He opened up 7-2 on Friday evening and an opening mark of 105 looks rather attractive.
Over at Navan, top-class chaser Flemenstar (4:25) returns to action in the Grade 2 Webster Cup Chase and, though his wellbeing has to be taken on trust, he is worth chancing at odds of 11-4.
Tony Martin’s 10-year-old has both a fine record fresh and also a fine record at this track, plus conditions are pretty much ideal for this first start in more than 16 months.
Saturday’s selections:
3:55 Uttoxeter: Pied Du Roi; 9/4 Paddy Power
4:25 Navan: Flemenstar; 7/2 William Hill
