Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Shantou Village in the Wetherby 16:30. Compare odds and bet.
There is some really interesting stuff from the two jumps meetings up north on Friday.
Newcastle kicks off with a decent novices’ hurdle, in which Aintree bumper winner Echo Springs is worth noting on his return from injury.
Likewise, smart dual purpose performer Pearl Castle is of interest despite top weight in the handicap hurdle and both would ideally prefer drier ground. Pay close attention to both with the future in mind.
The day’s selection comes from Wetherby and, while I wouldn’t usually put up a debutant, SHANTOU VILLAGE (4:30) is a horse that created a big impression on me when winning his point-to-point in Ireland.
The five-year-old changed hands for £80,000 at Cheltenham in November and makes his debut under rules for in-form trainer Neil Mulholland this afternoon.
