Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Thursday; Milsean in the Thurles 3.15 and Alternatif in the Taunton 3.30. Compare odds and bet.
Impressive on his British debut at Kempton on Boxing Day Alternatif (3:30) can defy a 9lb rise and land the extended 2m3f handicap hurdle at Taunton on Thursday.
David Pipe’s five-year-old only had a neck to spare at the line, but travelled strongly for a long way and this slightly shorter trip should not be an issue.
Over in Ireland Milsean (3:15) hasn’t quite lived up to my expectations this season, but he looked a potentially high-class sort in bumpers last term and is taken to get back to winning ways.
Willie Mullins’ imposing six-year-old ought to relish the ground and should appreciate being ridden more aggressively over today’s shorter trip.
In the same contest, keep an eye on Fine Theatre who really impressed when winning his maiden hurdle last time and could go well at much bigger odds.
Thursday’s selections:
3:15 Thurles: Milsean; evens; Paddy Power
3:30 Taunton: Alternatif; 6/5 Stan James
