Paul Ferguson has two selections from Leopardstown for us on Sunday; Alvisio Ville at 2:15 and Valseur Lido at 2:45. Compare odds and bet.
Leopardstown stages a magnificent card on Sunday, where Valseur Lido (2:45) is fancied to book his ticket to Cheltenham by winning the Flogas Novice Chase.
Willie Mullins’ six-year-old is two from two to date over fences and looked a high-class novice when beating Apache Stronghold by 8 lengths in the Drinmore. Not seen since, he can complete the hat-trick under Bryan Cooper.
Apache Stronghold has run well against Don Poli since and, given that things didn’t go his way last time, can be expected to get a little closer, but he will have his work cut out to reverse form. He rates the main danger.
Earlier on the card Valseur Lido’s stable-mate Alvisio Ville (2:15) can maintain his unbeaten record over hurdles by landing the Deloitte Novice Hurdle.
An impressive winner at the track on his debut for Willie Mullins and JP McManus over Christmas, he has plenty more on his plate here but the step up in trip ought to suit the grey, who has been heavily supported for the Neptune at Cheltenham in recent days. There was a lot to like about his debut success.
Sunday’s selections:
2:15 Leopardstown : Alvisio Ville; 5/4 Skybet
2:45 Leopardstown: Valseur Lido; 11/8 Stan James
