Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Thursday; Dusky Legend in the Towcester 13:50. Compare odds and bet.
Alan King’s Dusky Legend (1:50) appears to be improving with each run and is fancied to get off the mark over hurdles at Towcester on Thursday.
The Midnight Legend mare was an impressive bumper winner at Fontwell and, after finishing sixth in a Listed event at Cheltenham in November, the five-year-old ran a sound race on her hurdles bow at this track.
She filled the runner-up spot that day and did so when last sighted, again in Listed company behind the potentially smart Tara Point. She looks as though this slightly longer trip ought to suit and she is favoured to The Govaness who finished a couple of lengths behind her at Taunton over Christmas.
A smart bumper performer herself last season, Fergal O’Brien’s runner probably sets the standard on her debut second to a useful performer (when she looked all over the winner) but Dusky Legend looks on the up and is given the vote.
Thursday’s selection:
1:50 Towcester: Dusky Legend; 11/8 Skybet
