Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Monday; Ma Du Fou in the Bangor 14:30. Compare odds and bet.
Despite proving an expensive failure on his hurdles debut at Wetherby Ma Du Fou (2:30) is worth another chance at Bangor on Monday.
Warren Greatrex’s four-year-old looked an exciting prospect when winning a bumper at the same track back in April and on both occasions appeared to hit a flat spot leaving the back straight.
Originally put down to greenness, it could be that he needs a bit further and could, therefore, improve considerably for today’s extra half-mile.
He faces a useful sort in the shape of the 130-rated Coologue, who was runner-up on his sole point-to-point start and has filled the same spot in both races under rules, bumping into a potentially smart Neil Mulholland trained novice on each occasion. Charlie Longsdon’s five-year-old sets the standard, but Ma Du Fou remains a very interesting prospect and, at the likely prices, Greatrex’s runner is favoured.
With no racing for the next three days, I’ll be back on Boxing Day and would like to take this opportunity to wish my regular readers a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy!
