Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Tara Point in the Sandown 13:55. Compare odds and bet.
This afternoon’s Grade 2 Winter Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown looks a strong renewal and, while the opposition are respected, the Paul Nicholls trained Tara Point (1:55) is fancied to maintain her 100% record under rules.
A wide-margin point-to-point winner at the second time of asking, the daughter of Kayf Tara impressively won a Taunton bumper in April and she bolted up by 15 lengths on her debut over timber at Exeter last month.
The grey looks potentially high-class and, though this represents a huge step up in class and in trip, she receives a 7lbs sex-allowance from Shantou Bob and Ordo Ab Chao and a further 3lbs from market leader and recent Cheltenham winner Vyta Du Roc. The selection opened up at 10/3 on Thursday evening and take advantage of the weight she gets.
Earlier on the card In Fairness is of interest on his chasing debut as he appeals as the type to improve for a fence, but there isn’t much between him and Howlongisafoot on their recent hurdles meeting.
Friday’s selection:
1:55 Sandown Tara Point 2/1 Ladbrokes
