Live on Sky Sports 1: Sun 13.30: Southampton and Man City are 7/2 (BetVictor) for a score draw in their Premier League clash.
Sitting in second and third respectively, Southampton and Manchester City are the two teams in closest pursuit of Premier League pace setters Chelsea so they’ll both desperate for the points as they go head-to-head at the St Mary’s Stadium.
Despite the Saints enjoying home advantage, it’s the champions that get the nod from bookies, Stan James installing them as 7/5 favourites on the south coast, where Ronald Koeman’s troops are as high as 11/5 (BetVictor) and bet365 post 13/5 against it finishing all square.
However, the hosts have won five and drawn one of their six matches on their own patch, scoring a whopping 17 times and conceding just the once in the process so they’ve certainly been underestimated especially as they’re coming up against a side that has regularly failed to convince this term.
Admittedly, City have their tails up following their dramatic victory over Bayern Munich in midweek but that result could prove to be a distraction rather than a catalyst for improvement and it’s easy to see Southampton getting something from the match.
A share of the spoils isn’t out of the question and BetVictor’s 7/2 about a score draw isn’t without appeal, alongside a flutter on Saints at 5/4 in Paddy Power’s ‘Draw No Bet’ market.
Alternatively, Ladbrokes price the home side at 3/5 to avoid defeat and it’s an equally appealing, but slightly heftier 13/20 (betway) for both teams to get on the scoresheet.
Though Southampton are worth following meanwhile, it’s tough to overlook the form of City marksman Sergio Aguero. He bagged a stunning hat-trick on Tuesday and has struck 17 times in 18 matches this term. The Argentine striker is 4/1 (bet365) to net first and 13/10 with William Hill to notch at any stage.
Recommended Bets:
Southampton v Man City score draw – 7/2 (BetVictor)
Sergio Aguero to score at any time – 13/10 (William Hill)
