Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Sunday; Stellar Notion in the Leicester 12:40 and The Tulloe Tank in the 2.05 at Fairyhouse. Compare odds and bet.
The best of the action on Sunday comes from Fairyhouse, where the Drinmore Novice Chase is the pick of the three Grade 1s.
Both Apache Stronghold and, even more so, Valseur Lido impressed when winning on debut over fences, but I have had this race in mind for The Tullow Tank (2:05) since mid-summer and, after winning on debut at the track earlier in the month, I expect him to take the beating.
The six-year-old should improve for racing in a stronger contest and, as that was his first outing for since February, he can be expected to come on for it. He is three from three at the track and won the Royal Bond on this card last year.
At Leicester Stellar Notion (12:40) can make a winning debut over fences in the opening novices’ handicap chase.
Tom George’s strapping six-year-old is a horse I am particularly looking forward to this season and, if he makes the progress that I suspect he is capable of, he will end up the season rated a fair bit higher than his current mark of 120.
Sunday’s selection:
12:40 Leicester: Stellar Notion; 7/4 Coral
2:05 Fairyhouse: The Tullow Tank; 15/8 William Hill
