Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 06:00 & 22:00 Angus Loughran previews the 2014 Volvo World Matchplay and Grand Slam of Golf tournaments.
The Volvo World Matchplay returns to England this week, though not to Wentworth but the London Club.
Graeme McDowell defends his title won in Bulgaria and is a top price of 13/2 to do so; he should reach the last eigtht and 12/1 shot Joost Luiten can join him.
The format comprises four groups of four with the top two from each progressing to a quarter final knockout phase on Saturday. The semi-finals follow on Sunday morning and the final takes place in the afternoon.
I fancy Victor Dubuisson, who looks great value here at 9/1 having played so well in his first Ryder Cup last month. He was superb in the matchplay event in Arizona earlier in year and clearly loves this format.
Paul Casey also loves matchplay and at 11/1 is also worth a bet this week. Patrick Reed and Jamie Donaldson will not be easy opponents of course but I favour Casey and see him as a decent option.
Henrik Stenson heads the market at 11/2 but Dubuisson and Casey against the field are my picks.
Rory McIlroy is 5/4 market leader to win the Grand Slam of Golf which includes Masters champion Bubba Watson at 7/2. Martin Kaymer, the US Open winner is a 9/2 chance and Jim Furyk is priced at 7/2 but it will be a shock to me if McIlroy doesnt collect here.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
