Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 13:00 Angus Loughran previews the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championships Tournament.
It will certainly not be as raucous as Gleneagles for the four members of the winning European Ryder Cup team in this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, ahead of which Rory Mcllroy deserves to be clear favourite. He’s worth backing even just as a saver at 9/2 given that he looks likely to be hard to beat.
I like the chances of Joost Luiten here at 25/1; he is playing really well at present and is cool enough to get over the line if he is in with a chance on Sunday.
Richie Ramsay is a player i have been taking a close look at recently and it would be no surprise to me to see him pop up at a big price before the season ends so he looks worth a wager here at 66/1.
Paul Casey meanwhile, also looks overpriced at 30/1 and is the forgotton man of European Golf; he should give backers a decent run for their money.
Backers should be aware this event is played over a trio of courses – St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie – with one round on each before a final day shootout at St Andrews.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
