Paul Ferguson has two selections from Aintree on Sunday; Upswing in the 3.15 and Great Try at 4.25. Compare odds and bet.
Absent since winning at Newbury in February Upswing (3:15) is fancied to make a winning return for Jonjo O’Neill and Tony McCoy, at Aintree on Sunday.
I usually tend to avoid Pertemps Qualifiers, but this horse was on a sharp upward curve when last sighted and has more to offer over timber. A faller when about to challenge the smart Champagne West at Wincanton on Boxing Day, he was given a fine ride by the champion jockey to score when last seen and can defy the 4lb rise.
Later on the card Great Try (4:25) is taken to land the concluding bumper for Paul Nicholls, Trevor Hemmings and Nick Scholfield.
A hugely impressive winner on his sole start last term, when scoring by 9 lengths on the sand at Southwell, the son of Scorpion looks an exciting prospect and has had this race as his first target for some time. Despite carrying a 7lb penalty, the five-year-old can make it two from two, before embarking on his hurdles career.
Sunday’s selections:
3:15 Aintree Upswing; 9/2 Skybet
4:25 Aintree Great Try; 5/2 betvictor
