Newcastle remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League having only drawn with Hull last weekend and while they will take heart from their comeback in that contest as well as their battling extra-time success in the Capital One Cup tie at Crystal Palace in midweek, the under-fire Magpies aren’t expected to bag their first Premier League triumph of the campaign at Stoke.
The Potters are Stan James’s 6/5 jollies while Alan Pardew’s troops are 29/10 (BetVictor) to relieve some of the pressure on their beleaguered boss by carding a crucial victory.
There’ll be some takers for that too given that the hosts have lost both of their home matches but their form in general is pretty solid and they can capitalise on the disarray in the visitors’ camp.
