The Elephants have a winnable opener against Japan so can make the ideal start and they look exciting going forward with Yaya Toure supporting the likes of Didier Drogba and Solomon Kalou in attack.
Swansea front man Wilfried Bony is also in a rich vein of form and as Colombia meet a stubborn Greece team first up, the Ivorians could go into the potential group decider against Jose Pekerman’s troops with a slight advantage.
They’re certainly better value to finish first at the prices then, although those not convinced can back Ivory Coast and Colombia to both qualify in any order at 9/4 (BetVictor).
