Live on ITV: Weds 23.00: In World Cup Group A, Croatia are 7/4 to beat Cameroon in Skybet’s handicaps, when starting a goal behind.
Croatia can count themselves pretty unfortunate to have gone down 3-1 to World Cup hosts Brazil in the first game of the tournament but they can take great heart from their performance in that one and they still have it in them to qualify.
Victory against Cameroon will put Niko Kovac’s men in a strong position and at 8/13 (Betfred) they’re worthy favourites for the points in Manaus.
The African side, bet365’s 11/2 outsiders, served up nothing that should worry Croatia as they went down 1-0 to Mexico and indeed that result probably flattered the Indomitable Lions somewhat.
It’s hard to see them making an impact in this contest then and it would be no surprise to see the Croats dominate possession in a straightforward victory.
BetVictor go 6/4 about Kovac’s troops leading at the end of each half and it’s a slightly heftier 7/4 (Skybet) for Croatia to trioumph in the handicaps when starting a goal in arrears.
Alternatively, as Cameroon provided very little threat in attack against the Mexicans, it’s worth considering Betfred’s 17/10 for Croatia to win ‘to nil’.
Mario Mandzukic meanwhile, could return for the favourites and he’s 9/2 (bet365) to break the deadlock.
